Mocha Brownie Pizza with Espresso Buttercream and Black Cocoa Powder

A fudgy brownie crust that eats like a giant, shareable brownie. This mocha brownie pizza layers espresso buttercream over a black cocoa and Dutch-Process cocoa base, then gets a chocolate drizzle and chunks of chopped chocolate on top. Serve it after dinner with hot coffee or a cold glass of milk.

Directions

  2. Preheat the oven to 350°. Line a pizza pan with parchment paper.

  3. In the bowl of your mixer, add the butter and sugar. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Add vanilla and eggs and beat on medium speed for 1 minute.

  4. In a medium bowl, combine the cocoa powder, flour and salt. Stir with a whisk to combine. Add flour mixture to butter mixture and beat just until combined.

  5. Pour the batter onto the prepared pizza pan. Bake in the 350° oven for 16-18 minutes or until the brownie crust is completely set.

  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.

  8. Combine the whipping cream and espresso powder. Stir to combine. Set aside.

  9. In the bowl of your mixer, beat the butter on medium speed for 4 minutes or until butter is pale in color. Add powdered sugar and vanilla and beat for 4 minutes or until light and fluffy. Add the whipping cream mixture and beat until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.

  11. Spread espresso buttercream on cooled brownie crust leaving a ½ inch border around the edge.

  12. Drizzle with chocolate sauce and sprinkle with chopped chocolate. Slice into 16 pieces and enjoy!
